Sam Soverel became the sixth player to capture a second U.S. Poker Open title when he emerged victorius in U.S. Poker Open Event #3: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em for $213,900. Soverel topped a field of 93 entries and conquered a stacked final table featuring Kristen Foxen, Chris Brewer, and Nacho Barbero to achieve the feat.

Starting the day second in chips, Soverel had a lot of work to do to catch Brandon Wilson who began the day with the overwhelming chip lead. Wilson started with over two times as many chips as Soverel did at the beginning of the day. But Soverel remained steady and was able to pick the right spots to build his stack.

The day started with a bang as Kristen Foxen nearly tripled up, eliminating Nacho Barbero in the process, in a wild three-way all in with Brandon Wilson. Foxen was holding queens and they would hold strong against Barbero's sevens and Wilson's nines for to secure the elimination and the massive pot. Dan Colpoys would drop next when he ran his ace-jack right into the waiting arms of Soverel's ace-king. Colpoys would open, then call when Soverel jammed from the big blind. He found no improvement and was eliminated in 5th place.

Play found itself at a stand still as it was over two hours until the next elimination. During that time, Soverel found a monster call to double up against Foxen. In the hand, Soverel limped from the small blind holding five-deuce suited. Foxen checked her option in the big blind with ten-eight. Foxen fired on an ace-high board board three times with her ten-high and Soverel found a call on each street after pairing his five on the flop. This would put Soverel back into the middle of the pack and it was all uphill from there for him.

He found another double from Foxen shortly after with queens against her sevens which put him firmly into the chip lead. Foxen was eliminated just a few hands later in fourth place. In her final hand, Foxen moved in with aces and was called by both Wilson and Soverel. Soverel rivered a flush to crack those aces and brought the field down to three with a massive chip lead.

The tournament wouldn't last much longer as Wilson was eliminated by Chris Brewer in third place only a few hands later. Brewer jammed from the small blind with deuces and a short-stacked Wilson called from the big blind with ace-eight. The deuces would hold to bring Soverel and Brewer into heads-up play.

The heads-up match was a quick one, lasting just one hand, as Brewer found red deuces again in the small blind. He limped and Soverel raised with king-queen. Soverel quickly called Brewers limp-shove and found a queen on the river to seal his victory in the tournament.

Soverel's first U.S. Poker Open title came back in 2021 when he won Event #2: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha for $175,500. The win adds to Soverel's already impressive list of cashes which ammount to over $20,000,000, according to TheHendonMob.com, and adds to a list full of high-roller tournament victories. The win marks his fourth victory inside the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas.
