Keijzer Leads; Negreanu and Weisman Among Final Five of 2023 U.S. Poker Open Event #4

The 2023 U.S. Poker Open continued from the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and players flocked to the felt for Event #4: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha, the first of two PLO events of the series.

Dutchman Ronald Keijzer holds the chip lead heading into the final day with a stack of 3,225,000. He sits ahead of Allan Le, Daniel Negreanu, Dylan Weisman, and Damjan Radanov who will all return on Tuesday, March 28, at 12 p.m. PT to play out Event #4 on the PokerGO live stream that will air at 1 p.m. PT.

Negreanu picks up his second cash of the series following a min-cash in Event #1, while the remaining players at the final table grabbed their first of the series. Keijzer is coming off a victory just last week when he won the final event of the PLO Series, Event #9: $2,200 5-Card Pot-Limit Omaha for $43,700, and he will be in pole position to add another trophy to his collection when action resumes.

The 77-entrant field created a prize pool of $770,000. The top 11 players would finish in the money and Keijzer took advantage of the bubble with his big stack as he played many hands and accumulated chips. Eventually, it would be Brazilian Joao Simao eliminated on the bubble when he got his aces and flush draw in on the flop but fell to Le's turned straight.

Steve Zolotow (11th) and Peng Shan (10th) were eliminated shortly after, and Sean Winter (9th) and Ben Lamb (8th) exited at the same time when a four-way all-in transpired. Lamb flopped a full house but Negreanu turned a superior full house, and he scooped the entire pot to head into the final table with a seven-figure stack at the conclusion of the double-elimination hand.

There were two clear short stacks when seven players converged on a single table and it didn't take much time before they were gone. Masashi Oya scored a couple of short-stacked doubles and was able to secure a ladder as Edgardo Rosario Figueroa fell in seventh place. Oya still had the least amount of chips at the table, however, and the Japanese player soon made his exit in sixth place before the five remaining players bagged and tagged to return for the streamed final table.

When play resumes, the button will be on Allan Le. There is a dead small blind and Damjan Radanov will be the big blind. There is 19:15 remaining in Level 13 with blinds at 15,000 / 25,000 and a 25,000 big blind ante.

The final five players have all locked up $61,600 in prize money, but all eyes remain on the grand prize of $200,200 in prize money, 200 PGT points, and the mini Golden Eagle trophy which will soar them up the U.S. Poker Open leaderboard.
