Dzmitry Urbanovich Wins Event #4: $10,200 8-Game for $179,200

Dzmitry Urbanovich came into the final table fourth in chips, but the Polish poker pro caught fire in Razz to start the day and didn't look back as he defeated Daniel Negreanu heads-up to win Event #4: $10,200 8-Game for $179.200. 

Urbanovich took the chip lead early in level 18 when his ace high was good enough against Max Hoffman in a limit hold'em hand for just under a two million chip pot, but 'Kid Poker' proved more than game as the battle was on. 

Start-of-day short stack Anthony Zinno would be the first player to fall at the final table as his single-suited aces fell to the turned two pair of Arthur Morris as he headed to the payout desk to collect $44,800 for his second, fifth place finish of the series. 

Max Hoffman came into the final table second in chips, just behind Negreanu for the start of the day chip lead. Still, the Massachusetts native couldn't get anything going as he watched his chip stack dwindle before getting his last 860,000 into the middle with pocket kings against the ace-eight of Urbanovich. Urbanovich flopped an ace, and Hoffman was out the door in 4th place for $56,000, just shy of the largest cash of Hoffman's career. 

Three-handed play began with Urbanovich and Negreanu nearly dead-even for the chip lead at 3.5 million as Morris had some work to do with just over a million in chips. 

Morris would find a double when he made two pair in Stud against Negreanu's pair of queens to get over two million in chips, but the momentum was short-lived. 

With a game change to Omaha eight or better, 'Kid Poker' would find his groove as he would scoop Morris in back-to-back pots, leaving the Texas native with just 100,000 in chips. 

With 75,000 of his 100,000 already in the middle as the small blind Morris called a raise from Negreanu on the button, as did Urbanovich in the big blind, giving Morris the chance at the triple. 

The chance was short-lived, however, as Negreanu's pocket kings held to eliminate Morris in 3rd place for $78,400 and his second cash of the series. 

With the elimination, Negreau and Urbanovich were dead even in chips as heads-up play began and the pace of play showed. 

After playing six hands of 2-7 triple draw without either player seeing a draw, Urbanovich was able to take the chip lead during No Limit Hold'em, but his lead was short-lived as Negreanu would pick up the pace in Stud winning three hands in a row to take the chip lead. 

As level 21 began, Urbanovich finally found his game as he took the chip lead for good when he rivered Broadway in Pot Limit Omaha and crossed the five million chip mark. 

Negreanu would have a shot at the double back into the chip lead a few hands later when he got all the chips into the middle, holding the top two pair against Urbanovich's top pair and a wrap. A deuce on the river completed Urbanovich's wrap, and Negreanu was denied his first tournament victory since Super High Roller Bowl VII, taking home $117,600 for the second-place finish. 

How the Rest of the Event Playout 

Event #4 drew 56 entrants and created a prize pool of $560,000, with the top eight finishers securing a cash and the all-important PGT leaderboard points. 

Just missing out on the money was Event #2 winner Chino Rheem in 10th, narrowly missing out on his third cash of the series, and Event #2 runner-up Andres Korn would fall victim to Negreanu in 9th to burst the money bubble. 

Dylan Linde would be the first to fall once play reached the money, as Negreanu would once again play executioner when his eight-six held against the seven draw of Linde in Razz. Linde caught a jack on the river and headed to the payout desk to collect his $22,400 for the eighth-place finish and second overall cash of the series. 

Hoffman would score a double elimination to end day one when he flopped trip jacks against the pocket aces of John Hennigan on a queen-jack-jack board in Omaha eight or better. Andrew Kelsall was also in the hand, having called all in preflop, and when a nine hit the turn, Kelsall turned the nut flush draw, but Hoffman made a full house, sending Hennigan to the payout desk in 6th place for $33,600 and Kelsall out the door in seventh place for $28,000.

The win also moves Urbanovich into third place in the race for the Player of the Series trophy with 179 points, but Rheem continues to pace the field with 243 points. 

Morris makes his first appearance inside the top ten and now sits in ninth place thanks to his two series cashes. Zinno moves from tenth place to eighth place and now sits with 103 points, and Negreanu makes his way into the top five thanks to his 118 points for the second-place finish.
