Dan Zack Leads the 18 Survivors in PGT Mixed Games Event #7: $25,000 10-Game Championship

PGT Mixed Games Event #7: $25,000 10-Game Championship drew out 57 entries and at the end of the first day of play, just 18 remained. Leading them is 2022 World Series of Poker Player of the Year Dan Zack, who finished with a small lead over Jeremy Ausmus to end the night. 

Zack had an up and down day, breaching one million, dropping down to just over 500,000 and then finishing the night as chip leader after taking a big pot from Craig Chait in Limit Hold'em. He bagged 1,150,000 at the end of play. Zack currently has 181 PGT points and sits fifth on the PGT Mixed Games leaderboard. He'll look to add to that tomorrow by making the money when just nine players remain. 

Besides Zack and Ausmus (1,070,000), the only player over one million chips is Jason Mercier, who bagged 1,020,000. But several players still remain in the hunt for PGT Mixed Games Champion including current points leader John Monnette. Monnette sits with one of the shorter stacks left in the field, but a cash would help him solidify his position. Craig Chait is another still in contention with a short stack as he bagged 370,000. Others within reach of the top spot still alive in this event include Maxx Coleman, David 'ODB' Baker, and Daniel Negreanu, all who sit in the top 20 players on the PGT Mixed Games leaderboard. 

Negreanu is another player who had a rollercoaster day as at one point he sat with just 32,000 chips with one level to play. Negreanu managed to find several key double ups near the end of the night to finish the day with 580,000 chips, just shy of an average stack. 

Of the remaining 18 players half will make it into the money with a min cash being worth $42,750. The eventual winner of the event will earn $427,500 along with 257 PGT points which will be used to determine the PGT Mixed Games champion. The PGT Mixed Games champion will receive the PGT Trophy and a $25,000 championship bonus. PGT points will also be used for the year-long leaderboard which will qualify players to the end-of-year PGT Championship $1,000,000 freeroll. 

Action resumes at the start of level 12 with blinds at 10,000/15,000 with a big blind ante of 15,000 in the big bet games and limits of 25,000/50,000 with an ante of 5,000 in the limit games.
