Aram Zobian Wins Texas Poker Open High Roller for $48,600

The Texas Poker Open continued at Champions Club in Houston, Texas, and Saturday featured the second of seven high rollers for the series while Day 1F of the $3,300 buy-in Main Event was underway. The Texas Poker Open High Roller #2: $5,100 No-Limit Hold'em attracted a total of 18 entrants and created a prize pool of $90,000. The final three players finished in the money, and Aram Zobian defeated Jeremy Becker heads-up to win the $48,600 first-place prize.

With 45 players having advanced to Day 2 of the Main Event, the second high roller of the series was filled predominately with players having a seat in Day 2. David Mzareulov, Brian Green, Matthew Wantman, Isaac Kempton, Chander Jain, Frederic Normand, Michael Berk, Victoria Livschitz, Ed Sebesta, Jim Collopy, Jeremy Ausmus, Yunkyu Song, and Robert Mefford sat alongside Zobian and Becker throughout the event. When Ausmus was eliminated on the money bubble, Livschitz had locked in her second consecutive high roller cash but would fall in third place for $14,400 at the hands of Zobian.

Zobian held a commanding lead heads-up against Becker, who was avenging his bubble in the previous high roller. Becker scored one double before the final hand played out, which saw him turn trips but run into Zobian's flopped flush with king-jack. Becker collected $27,000 and 27 PGT points for his runner-up finish, while Zobian collected his second PGT title of the season, $48,600 in prize money, and the Texas Poker Open belt buckle trophy.

Zobian now earns his third career PGT title with this victory, and second of the season following his U.S. Poker Open win earlier this month. Zobian now has amassed $2,095,892 in career PGT earnings with 20 final tables and 25 cashes. Like Becker and Livschitz, Zobian also has a seat on Day 2 after bagging 498,000 in chips on Day 1B.

Zobian cements his position in third on the PGT leaderboard with 1,097 PGT points. Becker climbs to 42nd with 245 PGT points, while Livschitz moves up one spot to 24th with 333 PGT points.

What's Next On the Texas Poker Open Schedule?

The Day 1G turbo flight is underway, while Day 1F is playing down to the final 26 players who will advance to Day 2 to join the 45 survivors from Day 1A, 1B, 1D, and 1E.

On Sunday, April 28, will be the final opening flight of the Texas Poker Open $3,300 Main Event at 8 a.m. CT. Day 2 of the Texas Poker Open Main Event begins at 2 p.m. CT, while the final one-day high roller will begin at 5 p.m. CT.

Beginning on Monday, April 29, will be a stretch of two-day high rollers. There will be a $5,100 No-Limit Hold'em, a $5,100 Pot-Limit Omaha, a $10,100 No-Limit Hold'em, and a $10,100 Pot-Limit Omaha high roller to close out the PGT-qualifying portion of the Texas Poker Open.
