Aram Zobian Leads the Final Six in Event #2 of 2023 PokerGO Cup

Aram Zobian eliminated three of the final four players and holds a million chip lead over second place Kristen Foxen as Event #2: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em is down to the final table of six

Rounding out the final table are Punnat Punsri, Seth Davies, Andrew Moreno, and Cary Katz, who improves on his 10th-place finish in Event #1 for his second cash of the series. 

Event #2 drew a field of 83 entrants and created a prize pool of $830,000, with the top 12 finishing in the money. 

Zobian sent the feild into the money and took the chip lead when he eliminated Brian Batt in 13th place in a million-and-a-half chip pot. 

With just over 300,000 in the middle of a board reading , Zobian overbet shoved for approximately 500,000, effective having Batt covered. Batt used three-time extensions before calling and tabling for two pair. 

Zobian tabled for a turned flush, Batt was out the door, and Zobian held just north of 2.3 million chips. 

After Calvin Lee fell in 12th place for $16,600 and Michael Rossitto fell in 11th place for $24,900, Zobian would capture his first knockout of the money and close in on three million chips. 

In another blind vs. blind battle, Masashi Oya limped shoved for 750,000 from the small blind with ace-seven only to see Zobian wake up with pocket aces from the big. A seven on the flop gave Oya hope, but he could improve no further as he headed to the payout cage in 10th place for $24,900. 

Three hands later, Benjamin Miner found himself all in and at risk holding ace-queen against the king-jack of hearts of Zobian. Three hearts on the flop left Miner drawing dead as he was out the door in 9th place for $33,200 as Zobian collected his stack to move over 3.5 million. 

Foxen started the unofficial final table sixth in chips but quickly vaulted near the top of the leaderboard when she doubled through Davies.  

Foxen would cement her hold on second place when she turned a set of sevens to send Ben Yu and his flopped top pair out the door in 8th place for $33,200. 

Zobian sent the players home for the night a few hands later when his king-ten of diamonds ran down the pocket sixes of Ethan "Rampage" Yau. Zobian flopped an open-ended straight draw plus a flush draw and completed his straight on the river to send Yau home in seventh place for $41,500. 

The final six players are guaranteed at least $49,800, with the winner taking home $207,500 and the 208 PGT points that go with it.

When play resumes, the button will be on Kristen Foxen, and there will be 16:25 remaining in Level 15 with blinds at 20,000 / 40,000 and a 40,000 big blind ante.
