U.S. Poker Open Schedule: March 23 - April 4

The fifth installment of the U.S. Poker Open will be the fourth major series of the 2023 PokerGO Tour (PGT) season and will run from March 23 to April 4, 2023, inside the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The ten-event schedule is dominated by eight No-Limit Hold'em events, and two Pot-Limit Omaha tournaments. Buy-in range from $10,000 to the marquee $50,000 buy-in finale. The first nine events will give players a double reentry option, while the $50,000 finale will be a single reentry. Players in the registration line by 12 p.m. PT will qualify for a rake-free entry. Levels will be 40 minutes long, with a 10-minute break every two levels. The 30-second shot clock will be in play during the PokerGO Cup, with players beginning with six 30-second time extensions. The $50,000 finale will start at 2 p.m. PT and feature 45-minute levels while registration is open, and once closed, levels will be increased to 60 minutes.

All tournaments are part of the 2023 PGT season, with players earning points based on the amount they cash for. The points awarded during the U.S. Poker Open will also decide who wins the U.S. Poker Open, Golden Eagle Trophy, and $50,000 championship bonus.

Like all PGT-owned and operated events, a 30-second shot clock will be in play for the U.S. Poker Open. Players will begin with six 30-second time extensions, while they will receive an additional six when the field is down to the final six players. Players in the registration line by 12 p.m. PT will also qualify for rake-free on their first entry.

Satellite into 2023 U.S. Poker Open events

For players looking to get into the U.S. Poker Open cheaply, three satellites are running in the ARIA Poker Room on March 20-22, 2023.

The buy-in for the tournament is $1,100 and will start at 1 p.m. PT. Players that register by the start time will have the $100 fee waived. Each satellite sees players start with 100,000 in starting chips and levels will be 30 minutes in duration. Seats won can be used for any $10,000 buy-in during the U.S. Poker Open.

There will also be satellites inside the PokerGO Studio at 6 p.m. PT starting on Thursday, March 23.

Who Will Win the 2023 U.S. Poker Open?

The front-runners to win the 2023 U.S. Poker Open are those players that are dominating the top of the 2023 PGT leaderboard. Cary Katz will likely be playing every event and will be one of the favorites to win to be crowned the USPO champion on the back of his PokerGO Cup victory. Alex Foxen sits third on the PGT leaderboard with four cashes and a win, and like Katz, he will be a favorite to win his first championship on the PGT.

Just outside the PGT leaderboard top five are a few names that are expected to be featured throughout the 2023 U.S. Poker Open. Anthony Hu, Daniel Negreanu, Isaac Haxton, and Sean Winter all sit inside the top ten and are expected to feature heavily on the U.S. Poker Open leaderboard. Fresh off his runner-up finish in the PGT PLO Series $25,000 Championship, Ren Lin has declared he is playing the entire U.S. Poker Open and will be hoping to parlay his good run in the PLO Championship into better results at the U.S. Poker Open.

A long list of players that have started their 2023 PGT season quietly will be expected to make some noise at the U.S. Poker Open, including Sam Soverel, Jeremy Ausmus, and Nick Schulman.

How to Watch the 2023 U.S. Poker Open

Every event of the 2023 U.S. Poker Open is a two-day event, with Day 1 playing down to the final table. Day 2 will see the final six players return to the PokerGO Studio to conclude the event and crown a champion. 

Each U.S. Poker Open final table will be streamed on OTT service PokerGO from 4 p.m. ET from March 24 to April 4, 2023. Day 1 coverage of each event will be handled exclusively by the PGT Live Reporting Team on PGT.com.
