Adam Hendrix Wins 2022 Poker Masters Event #4 for $192,400

Adam Hendrix became the 2022 Poker Masters Event #4: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em winner on Monday, topping the 74-entry field to win $192,400. Hendrix entered the live-streamed final table with the chip lead and rode that chip lead to victory, topping Nate Silver in heads-up play.

Hendrix now has two cashes at the 2022 Poker Masters, pairing this victory with an 11th-place finish in Event #3: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha. The two finishes have Hendrix second on the series leaderboard behind Jeremy Ausmus.

Hendrix's Road To Winning Event #4

When the field broke into the money late on Day 1, Adam Hendrix was in the middle of the pack. He stayed in the middle until seven-handed play, and that's when he knocked out Justin Young to move up over 2,000,000 in chips and take the chip lead. When he busted Young, Hendrix had pocket queens to Young's ace-eight. Although Young flopped trips on the ace-ace-king flop, a deuce hit the turn followed by a queen on the river to give Hendrix a winning full house.

At the live-streamed final table on Monday, Xuan Liu disposed of Erik Seidel first. Then it was Nate Silver sending Ed Sebesta to the rail in fifth place. What followed was a close four-handed battle, with Hendrix even falling to be the short stack. Hendrix was able to find a double up against Silver to get off the short stack. Then he doubled through SIlver again to put himself back into the lead. On the first double through Silver, Hendrix won with queen-four against king-six. He then won with ace-jack against ace-four.

Hendrix scored another double up when his ace-queen came from behind to beat Victoria Livschitz's pocket queens. That left Livschitz short and she ultimately got her money in with ace-king versus Liu's ace-queen. Liu flopped a queen and held from there to knock out Livschitz in fourth place.

Silver had another chance to knock out Hendrix during three-handed play. This time, Silver's pocket queens couldn't beat the pocket tens of Hendrix and Hendrix doubled up. Hendrix flopped a set of tens and turned a full house to get the double.

Hendrix finished off Liu in third place and set up heads-up play against Silver with a 2.6-1 chip lead.

After a bit of battling between the two, they would find the money all in on a nine-eight-six flop for what would be the final hand. Silver had seven-four for an open-ended straight draw and a backdoor flush draw. Hendrix had ace-nine for top pair, top kicker. A nine hit the turn and a two hit the river to earn Hendrix the victory.

Ausmus Still Atop Series Leaderboard, Hendrix Now Second

Jeremy Ausmus remained on top of the Poker Masters series leaderboard with 242 points. Ausmus won the first event of the series and finished seventh in Event #2. With his victory in Event #4, Adam Hendrix moved into second place on the leaderboard now with 216 points.

Nick Schulman, who earned his third in-the-money finish of the 2022 Poker Masters with an eighth-place result in Event #4, has a series standing of fifth place with 191 points.
