David Coleman Tops PGT Leaderboard Ahead of Kristen Foxen

The inaugural PGT Kickoff series signified the beginning of the 2024 PokerGO Tour (PGT) season, and David Coleman is the front-runner on top of the PGT Leaderboard with 590 PGT points after winning two PGT Kickoff events.

PGT Kickoff had a unique twist of awarding double points for all cashes to give players the opportunity a headstart on the 2024 PGT season. Coleman won Event #1 for $120,150 and Event #4 for $73,800 while also cashing in Event #2 and #3. Coleman sits 161 PGT points clear of second place, having won $294,800 in the four opening events of the season. Second on the PGT leaderboard is Kristen Foxen, who defeated Daniel Negreanu to win Event #5 for $165,000. Foxen also finished in third place in Event #3 and sits on 429 PGT points to begin the season.

Third on the PGT leaderboard is a name not accustomed to No-Limit Hold'em success as Omaha stalwart Dylan Weisman rose the ranks and emerged victorious in Event #2 for $121,500. Weisman just missed out on qualifying for the 2023 PGT Championship, and finding success in games that are not his forte will help position him for a run at qualifying in 2024. Justin Young took a break from the cash games and joined the tournament action in Event #2, where he defeated Coleman heads-up to win the $105,850 first-place prize. Young is nestled in fourth on the PGT leaderboard behind Aram Zobian, who finished second in Event #1 and fourth in Event #4.

Sitting outside the Top 5 in sixth place is Negreanu, who played just the single PGT Kickoff event, while Jeremy Becker is seventh overall on the back of his two cashes. A new face to the PGT is Viktor Ustimov, who cashed three times during PGT Kickoff, while Samuel Laskowitz and Sergei Kislinskii round out the Top 10.

PGT Championship Qualification & Player of the Year Bonus

Players who finish the 2024 PGT season ranked in the top 40 of the PGT leaderboard and have cashed in three PGT events throughout the season will earn qualification for the season-ending PGT Championship $1,000,000 freeroll. The PGT Championship winner will take home $500,000 with additional payouts for the final table paid as a combination of cash and a PGT Passport. The player who finishes the 2024 PGT season with the most leaderboard points will be named PGT Player of the Year and be awarded a $50,000 PGT Passport.

What's Next On the PGT Schedule?

The next event on the 2024 PGT season schedule is the fourth annual PokerGO Cup from January 25 to February 3. The PokerGO Cup will feature eight scheduled events, starting with the $5,100 buy-in opening event and concluding with the $25,200 finale. The player who accumulates the most PGT points throughout the series will be crowned the PokerGO Cup champion and receive the PokerGO Cup trophy and a PGT Passport worth $25,000. 

Following the PokerGO Cup will be PGT Mixed Games from February 28 to March 8. The schedule will have ten events, beginning with a $5,100 H.O.R.S.E. and $5,100 8-Game, and concluding with the $25,300 10-Game Championship. The player who accumulates the most PGT points throughout the series will be crowned the PGT Mixed Games champion and receive the PGT Gold Cup and a PGT Passport worth $10,000. 

Once PGT Mixed Games concludes, the PGT PLO Series will return from March 20-29, and following that is the U.S. Poker Open from April 8-17.
