Poker and philanthropy are never far apart for Poker Central Ambassador Daniel Negreanu and “Kid Poker” is back at it this weekend. The six-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner is hosting the 1st Annual Diamond Foundation Scholarship Poker Charity Poker Tournament and proceeds will benefit The Diamond Foundation.

The Diamond Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Las Vegas Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and assists community service efforts of the undergraduate chapter of the fraternity at UNLV. The Diamond Foundation also works with Guide Right, an education and occupational guidance program for high school youth and community scholarship programs.

Across a storied poker career, Negreanu has always made a point to give back but the list of philanthropic poker players goes on and on. From Dan Smith’s holiday drive late last year, to Maria Ho’s pre-Super Bowl party, to Max Pescatori auctioning off his WSOP bracelet for disaster relief, Phil Hellmuth’s continued efforts with a variety of organizations and, most recently, John Juanda auctioning a piece of his Super High Roller Bowl buy-in, the poker community seemingly never stops making a difference.

Negreanu will again make a difference this weekend when the 1st Annual Diamond Foundation Scholarship Poker Charity Poker Tournament kicks off on Saturday, May 13th. The $150 buy-in event begins at 12 PM at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino and more information on The Diamond Foundation can be found here
