Masashi Oya Headlines Event #6 Final Table with $223k Awaiting Winner

A record-equalling field took part in Event #6: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em at the 2022 Poker Masters as a field of 97 entrants created a $970,000 prize pool that paid the top 14 players.

Following the elimination of Adam Hendrix on the money bubble, the pace of play slowed among the final 14 players which resulted in play being halted with just nine remaining following the eliminations of Amir Lehavot, John Riordan, Mitchell Halverson, Jim Collopy, and Ben Yu. Final table play only lasted an orbit before play ended with Japan's Masashi Oya holding the chip lead with 2,280,000 in chips having locked up his third cash of the series and eyeing pole position on the Poker Masters Purple Jacket leaderboard.

Trailing Oya are Matthew Wantman (2,055,000), Justin Saliba (1,790,000), and Martin Zamani (1,515,000) as the only players to finish with an above-average chip stack. Also at the final table are recent WSOP bracelet winner Jesse Lonis and WPT Champions Club member Jared Jaffee.

The final nine players have all locked up $38,800 in prize money, but all eyes are on the $223,100 first-place prize and title of Event #6 champion.
