Later this week, the World Poker Tour and PokerGO will partner for the first time. PokerGO will stream the WPT Legends of Poker Main Event final table on Thursday afternoon, giving fans around the world the opportunity to watch the world’s leading poker players compete for one of the WPT’s most prestigious titles.

This weekend, three Legends of Poker Main Event starting flights saw 715 players converge ran at The Bicycle Hotel & Casino in Bell Gardens, California and when the dust settled, 270 of those players had advanced to Monday’s Day 2 session. Registration will remain open until the start of Day 2, which kicks off at 12 PM PT, but new entrants and returning players will be chasing Cody Slaubaugh, who bagged 310,500 in Sunday’s Day 1C flight, which is good for the clubhouse lead.

Earlier in the weekend, some big names found their way to the top of the leader board. WPT Champions Club members Marvin Rettenmaier and Aaron Mermelstien bagged well above the chip average during Friday’s Day 1A flight, along with two-time Season XV winner Sam Panzica.

Nine-time WSOP Circuit ring winner Valentin Vornicu bagged the Day 1B chip lead, while former WPT Champion Jared Jaffee and Season XV Player of the Year Benjamin Zamani also advanced. A handful of past winners advanced through the final Day 1C flight, including recent bracelet winners James Calderaro and Mohsin Charania.

Other notable players that bagged through the weekend starting flights include, 2016 Super High Roller Bowl champion Rainer Kempe, Barry Hutter, Scott Vener, partypoker’s Mike Sexton, and Japanese recording artist GACKT.

As mentioned earlier, late registration will remain open until the start of Monday’s Day 2 session. When the field is frozen, the final figures and statistics will be reported by the World Poker Tour but regardless of how big the prize pool does get, the WPT will be awarding their one-billionth prize dollar during the WPT Legends of Poker Main Event. Live updates of the event can be found on WPT.com and Poker Central will update the event each day until the final table hits PokerGO on Thursday.
