Jerry Wong Dominates to Win Event #6: 10,200 Triple Draw Mix

Jerry Wong defeated Max Hoffman heads-up to go wire-to-wire, capture his first PGT title, and take home the $164,500 first-place prize in Event #6: $10,200 Triple Draw Mix. 

Wong came into the day with over 50% of the chips in play, but a rough first level saw him dip into second place on the leaderboard when Hoffman made a wheel in 2-7 to take the chip lead briefly. 

Wong immediately took the chip lead back at the start of level 18 and never looked back as he would go on to eliminate all three opponents at the final table. 

John Hennigan was the first to fall at Wong's hand when he got the last of his chips into the middle, playing 2-7 as he held against Wong's pat . Hennigan peeled a and was out the door in fourth place for $49,350 and his fourth cash of the series. 

Scott Lake walked into the PokerGO Studio for the final table with his bags already packed, needing to catch a flight but managed to secure a ladder into third place before the day was done. Lake finally bowed out in a 2-7 hand when his was bested on the last draw as Wong made number two to send him to the payout desk to collect his $68,150. 

Wong started heads-up play with a nearly three-to-one chip lead and quickly extended that as he dropped Hoffman to below a million chips during the first level of the heads-up match. 

Just as level 20 got underway, Wong put an end to the tournament during an A-5 hand when Hoffman got all-in before the third draw with up against Wong's . Hoffman had outs to stay alive, but when the appeared on the final draw, he headed to the payout desk for $103,400 and his third cash of the series.

Hennigan Extends Lead for Player of the Series

Event #6 of the third edition of the PGT Mixed Game series drew 47 entrants to create a prize pool of $470,000, with the top seven finishers making the money. 

Mixed game specialist Brian Yoon missed out on his first cash of the series as he fell to the buzzsaw that was Wong. Yoon got the last of his chips into the middle with a in Bagudi against Wong's . Wong made a third card three with the on the third draw, and when Yoon could only produce the , he finished just outside the money. 

Philip Sternheimer, Hal Rotholz, and Felipe Ramos all secured their first cashes of the series but just missed out on the final table, but all sit near the bottom of the overall leaderboard. 

On the other hand, Hennigan picked up an additional 49 points for his fourth-place finish and, thanks to his fourth cash of the series, now sits with 256 points at the top. 

Hoffman finished runner-up for the second day in a row to secure his third cash of the series and now sits second on the leaderboard, 19 points behind Hennigan. 

Event winner Wong picked up his second cash of the series and also rocketed up the leaderboard as he now sits in third with 212 points. 

Rounding out the top five are two Event winners, Mori Eskandani and Dan Shak, but each only has one cash and will need to secure at least one more to be eligible for the added PGT Passport.
