The 2023 PGT PLO Series II continued at the PokerGO Studio from ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada with Event #2: $7,600 Pot-Limit Omaha Bounty.
Finland's Eelis Parssinen bagged the chip lead as only six players remain. Dustin Goldklang, Brian Rast, Allan Le, Dylan Weisman, and Sean Winter round out the players who will return for the final day as play resumes at 12 p.m. PT on Saturday, October 21 with the delayed final table stream beginning at 2 p.m. PT on PokerGO.
The 149-entrant field created a total prize pool of $1,117,500, with $372,500 of it accounting for the $2,500 bounties on each player, while $745,000 went to the regular prize pool of which the top 22 finishers earned a piece. Ricardo Alvarado was the unfortunate bubble boy when he got his short stack in on a three-way all-in and failed to improve to the best hand. Among those to cash were Bryce Yockey (19th), George Wolff (18th), Jeremy Ausmus (12th), Joao Simao (10th), and Isaac Kempton (8th).
When seven players remained, they converged on a single table, and eventually, Stephen Hubbard got his short stack in with kings against Rast's aces. The runout changed nothing and the six remaining players bagged to return for the streamed final table.
Parssinen, Kempton, Zachary Schwartz, Fernando Habegger, and Vasil Medarov have cashed in both of the first two events of the series thus far. Matthew Wantman is still the frontrunner on the series leaderboard thanks to his victory in Event #1 as the race heats up for the $25,000 championship bonus and PGT Gold Cup.
Parssinen built up a big stack early in the day and leveraged his chip lead on the bubble to accumulate even more. The Finn scored nine bounties, including a double knockout to burst the money bubble, and he will soon be hunting for more as he looks to finish the job when the final table resumes.
Each player has locked up $37,250 but all eyes will be on the $149,000 first-place prize, 149 PGT points, and Event #2 trophy.

When play resumes, there is 1:23 remaining in Level 21 with blinds at 50,000/100,000 with a 100,000 big blind ante. The button is on Dylan Weisman, there is a dead small blind, and Dustin Goldklang is in the big blind.
