Bin Weng Leads 2023 Poker Masters Event #2 Final Table

The 2023 Poker Masters continued at the PokerGO Studio from ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Bin Weng bagged the top stack with 3,810,000 to lead the seven remaining players in Event #2: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em.

Antonio De La Cruz sits second in chips, while Poker Masters Event #1 winner Vladas Tamasauskas is third on the leaderboard and looking to go back-to-back. Erik Seidel, Eric Baldwin, and Darren Elias are next, while Alex Foxen will be the short stack with four big blinds as the players return for the final day of play at 12 p.m. PT on Saturday, September 16 with the delayed final table stream beginning at 1 p.m. PT on PokerGO.

The field of 97 entrants created a prize pool of $970,000 and the top 14 finishers earned a piece of it. Deep in the tournament, Chris Brewer lost the classic flip of ace-king versus queens against Elias and was left short-stacked, before he soon lost his remaining chips and was eliminated on the money bubble. Justin Sternberg (14th), Sam Soverel (13th), Yang Lu (12th), Daniel Rezaei (11th), Ryan Riess (10th), and Dan Shak (9th) all made it into the money but fell short of the unofficial final table.

The eight remaining players converged on a single table and Michael Rocco came into it as the short stack, but he earned a double and was soon all-in again against Weng with kings against ace-queen for a big pot. However, an ace on the flop doomed him and he fell in eighth place. The seven remaining players exchanged chips for another hour or so before they bagged to return for the streamed final table.

Weng is on a heater this year, having topped his biggest live cash three separate times with three seven-figure scores. He'll be looking to continue his good fortune with the possibility of the Purple Jacket and a $50,000 championship bonus on the horizon. De La Cruz returns second in chips and will top his biggest recorded live cash if he makes one pay jump, while Tamasauskas will be looking to continue his domination this series as the seven returning players eye the $223,100 first-place prize and Event #2 trophy.
