Friday morning. It’s been a long week but you are almost there. Just a few more calls, one more meeting and then the weekend and freedom awaits. We know you need a little extra boost to get you through the final day of the workweek and luckily, Poker Central and Death Wish Coffee have you covered. The world’s strongest coffee gives you a “Morning Perk,” bringing you the best of the internet from the past week.

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

The internet wasn’t around when Ferris Bueller gave everyone the perfect high school yearbook quote but his words are just as powerful today as they were in the late 80’s. The internet, more often than not, moves faster than life itself and while we’re sure we missed some of it, these were our favorites from the past week.

With the NBA Playoffs starting this weekend and the Dallas Mavericks comfortably out of the post-season picture for the better part of the last few months, not much could make them relevant to the average sports fan heading towards the end of the season. What about a former NFL quarterback dressing for practice and sitting on the bench for a game though, is that something that you might be interested in? If so, you were in luck. Tony Romo, now of CBS and formerly of the Dallas Cowboys, joined the Mavericks earlier this week. While he didn’t get into the game, he did show that he hasn’t lost a step since his high school days, where he averaged 24 points per game as a senior at Burlington High in Wisconsin.

We go from retired athletes to four athletes that are sure to dominate their sport for the better part of the next decade. Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth, who were projected to compete at Augusta last weekend but failed to do much of anything positive on Sunday, have another tradition unlike any other that isn’t the Masters. That is the week-long spring break that they take after the Masters each year, at Baker’s Bay Golf and Ocean Club in the Bahamas, along with rising PGA stars Justin Thomas and Smylie Kaufman. Every clip featuring the #SB2K17 hashtag is absolute gold but nothing beats Thomas asking, “You guys know any hard games?”

Speaking of people who are set to “dominate their sport for the better part of the next decade”, enter stage left Kendrick Lamar. The seven-time Grammy Award winner released his forth studio album, DAMN., earlier this week. The general public got it one day after LeBron James did, must be nice, and so far, the album has been met with rave reviews. It is currently streaming on Spotify and Apple Music.

Heading into this morning, Kendrick Lamar’s album release was at the top of my “What Has Will OC Excited Heading Into The Weekend” rankings. That all changed though, when I was sent the link to the new Star Wars trailer that was just released. The two-minute clip previewing Star Wars: The Last Jedi is a lot to take in and luckily, we’ll probably get a few more trailers before Episode VIII arrives in our galaxy on December 15. My favorite part of the trailer, when it looks like Rae is training under the guidance of Luke Skywalker. My least favorite part of the trailer, when Luke Skywalker says it is time for the Jedi to end.

There are few things that everyone can agree on but one of those things is that Chappelle’s Show was and is the funniest comedy show of all-time. One of the biggest reasons, Charlie Murphy’s True Hollywood Stories skits, featuring stories about Rick James and Prince. As arguably one of the world’s best storytellers, it never mattered what was real and what was fake with Murphy’s stories and even if you thought Prince making pancakes after playing a pick-up basketball game was fake, you could kind of see him doing that, right?! Unfortunately, Murphy passed away this past week, after succumbing to a battle with cancer at the young age of 57. Rest in peace, Charlie Murphy and don’t worry, your stories will never die.

Another “Morning Perk” Bonus Fav to end this week on a high note, ladies and gentleman, John Daly. Enjoy your weekend everyone.
