Las Vegas has everything, well at least starting today it does. This morning, two Chick-fil-A restaurants opened their doors in Henderson, NV, which for arguments sake when it comes to the greatest chicken restaurant on the planet, counts as Las Vegas.

As is customary with Chick-fil-A openings, the two stores offered free food for a year, it shakes out to 52 #1 meals, meaning 52 chicken sandwiches with a choice of drink and classic side, to the first 100 customers at each location. Judging by pictures and video posted by the Las Vegas Review Journal earlier today, which showed people camping out in tents and wrapped in blankets and pillows, those 100 free food cards were snatched up soon after doors opened this morning.

But wait, there is more! In addition to these two new Chick-fil-A restaurants, a third location is slated to open this spring, across from Palace Station. A fourth location is also set to open near McCarran Airport but does not have a time frame for opening just yet.

As someone who was born and raised in New Jersey, I didn’t grow up with Chick-fil-A as an available fast food option. My Poker Central editorial partner Paul Oresteen, who is from and lives in Georgia, did though.

“It’s the jewel of Southern fast food.” Oresteen said.

Late last year, Taco Bell, the jewel of all fast food, in my opinion, opened a flagship restaurant on The Strip. Las Vegas’ surrounding area now has not one, but two, Chick-fil-A locations. This is good news for fast food lovers but bad news for those trying to keep their diet-based New Year’s Resolutions heading into the second month of the year.
