Aram Zobian Leads 2023 Poker Masters Event #1 Final Table

The 2023 Poker Masters kicked off at the PokerGO Studio from ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Aram Zobian bagged the top stack with 2,980,000 to lead the seven remaining players in Event #1: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em.

Victoria Livschitz sits second in chips, while the always-entertaining Ren Lin is third. Further down the leaderboard, Filipp Khavin, Samuel Laskowitz, Vladas Tamasauskas, and recreational player Scott Jacewicz-O'Kelly round out the players who will return for the final day as play resumes at 12 p.m. PT on Friday, September 15 with the delayed final table stream beginning at 1 p.m. PT on PokerGO.

The healthy field of 114 entrants created a prize pool of $1,140,000 and the top 17 finishers earned a piece of it. Poker legend Steve Zolotow made a deep run but was eliminated on the money bubble when he lost a race on the river. Anthony Zinno (17th), Bin Weng (16th), Ryan Riess (15th), Matt Bond (14th), Ping Liu (13th), Byron Kaverman (12th), Dylan Linde (11th), John Krpan (10th), and Ben Yu (9th) all made it into the money but fell short of the unofficial final table.

The eight remaining players converged on a single table and play continued for nearly an hour as stacks became fairly even. Eventually, Jesse Lonis became a shorter stack when he lost a sizable pot to Livschitz, and the rest of his chips went in against Lin. Lonis' eights failed to improve against Lin's jacks, and the seven remaining players bagged to return for the streamed final table.

Zobian will be looking to utilize his top stack to close out the final table and take the early lead in the race for the Purple Jacket and $50,000 championship bonus. Meanwhile, Jacewicz-O'Kelly will be coming into the final table with the shortest stack, but the recreational player will have enough chips to continue his run as the remaining players battle it out on the felt for the $239,400 first-place prize and Event #1 trophy.
