Isaac Haxton Ships $10,000 Short Deck Poker Masters Event #4 on PokerGO

Playing Short Deck Poker for the very first time, Isaac Haxton took down the 2018 Poker Masters $10,000 Short Deck tournament. Haxton collected $176,000 for just the fifth outright win of his tournament career.

The first major Short Deck event held in the United States finished with a familiar face entering the winner’s circle for the first time at ARIA. Isaac Haxton topped a field of 55 to win the $10,000 Event 4 on PokerGO for $176,000.

Haxton entered the final table with a chance to jump up to second place in the Poker Masters standings and followed through on his mission with a heads up win over Maurice Hawkins.

Relive the entire final table here:

Hawkins caught a huge tailwind in the first hand of the final table. Dominik Nitsche started the day as chip leader but a three-way all-in sent him tumbling and #HawksView soaring.

Cary Katz’s third cash of Poker Masters resulted in a fifth-place finish and 60 more points for the overall leaderboard.

Hawkins continued to accumulate and used Andrew Robl as his next victim. Robl wound up on the wrong end of a cooler and Hawkins turned into the three-handed chip leader. With the finish, Robl confirmed himself as one of the foremost experts in Short Deck.

Reigning WPT Five Diamond champion Ryan Tosoc bowed out on the podium to set up heads up play between Hawkins and Haxton.

The players exchanged the lead a few times before Haxton latched on for good. Haxton put the final blow on Hawkins and shipped the $176,000 first-place prize.

Cash number three for Haxton in the Poker Masters puts him up to 480 points for the series, only a single cash and 30 points behind current leader Brandon Adams.

The Poker Masters continues tomorrow on PokerGO with the $25,000 No Limit Hold’em event. Only three more events separate one player from wearing the Purple Jacket. Subscribe to PokerGO today to watch all final tables on demand and the live conclusion to Poker Masters on September 15.
