Throughout the summer, PokerGO will bring fans across the globe exclusive access to World Series of Poker final table streams and Poker Central will be following all the WSOP action. Each day, “World Series of Photos” will tell the daily stories from the Rio, so you don’t miss any of the sights of the WSOP.

Event #68 – $3,000 No Limit Hold’em

Earlier this summer, Mohsin Charania won his first-career WSOP bracelet to complete poker’s Triple Crown and Harrison Gimbel is now part of that exclusive fraternity. Gimble, who won an EPT title in 2010 and then a WPT title last year, beat Chance Kornuth heads up to win Event $68, earning $645,000 but maybe more importantly, his first WSOP bracelet.

Event #70 – $10,000 No Limit Hold’em Ladies Championship

Each year, there are a few events that players from around the world circle on their calendars at the World Series and for female players, the Ladies Championship is certainly one of them. This year, over 700 players competed and in the end, it was Australia’s Heidi May claiming her first-career bracelet and a career-best score.

Event #72 – $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship

The last of the mixed game Championship events has yet to crown a champion, at the time of publishing, three players remain in the $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship, but with Chris Ferguson close to WSOP gold, that final table could be more newsworthy than anything that happens during Day 1B of the Main Event. Ferguson is going for his 6th-career WSOP triumph and a victory could push him closer to the top of the WSOP Player of the Year leader board heading into the Main Event.

Event #73 – $10,000 World Series of Poker Main Event

Day 1 is boring. Day 1 isn’t exciting. Day 1 isn’t important. The World Series of Poker Main Event is a seven-day marathon and while you can’t win the Main on Day 1, you can lose it. Hundreds will not advance through to the mid-week Day 2 sessions but Vanessa Selbst didn’t even last a full level. Per pocket aces, which flopped top set and then turned into a full house, were coolered to the rail by Gaelle Baumann. The entire hand aired live on ESPN2, which included a Selbst exit interview with Kara Scott, pictured above, and can be found on PokerGO.
