Event #6 – $111,111 High Roller for One Drop

The biggest winner yesterday and likely throughout the rest of the WSOP, until the Main Event crowns a champion in July, was Doug Polk. The online legend turned renowned poker personality and content creator added to his lengthy resume, with a third bracelet in the $111,111 High Roller for One Drop. After the victory, Polk said, “This is probably going to be one of the best moments of my life.” and he was certainly helped by one of the best rails, pictured top, we’ll see throughout the summer.

Event #5 – THE COLOSSUS III

Yesterday kicked off the $1,000 Tag Team event but the Massey brothers didn’t have a chance to play in that event because one-half of the Massey Tag Team was deep in THE COLOSSUS. Ralph Massey is still alive heading to Day 3 of the 18,000-player event and his brother, Aaron, will certainly be watching again today, as the Massey’s try to open the summer with a colossal final table run.

Event #7 – $2,500 Limit Mixed Triple Draw Lowball

Jesse Martin won his first WSOP bracelet in 2013 and over the last few years, has come close to notching a second WSOP victory. Martin didn’t come close yesterday, he did just that, beating James Obst heads up for the $2,500 Limit Mixed Triple Draw Lowball title. After the victory, we caught up with Martin, so keep an eye on the Poker Central Podcast for his post-bracelet reaction.

Event #9 – $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship

Abe Mosseri won his first WSOP bracelet in 2009 and has also been coming dangerously close to a second over the last few years. He returns as the top stack in the $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship and is likely a favorite to make the final table but on Day 2 of that tournament, there was a point where Mosseri had over 1 million chips, before anyone else was even over 500,000. Above, Mosseri shows just how massive that chip lead was.
