In the buildup of last year’s Super High Roller Bowl, Poker Central rolled out 25 days of player previews to get fans ready for the biggest event of 2017. Over the next month, Poker Central will again preview a massive series, the first-ever U.S. Poker Open. The entire eight-event series will be live streamed on PokerGO and until cards get in the air on February 1, Poker Central will preview the USPO with weekly articles surrounding the brand-new high stakes series.

This past fall, Poker Central and PokerGO changed the high stakes tournament game with the week-long Poker Masters series. That game will continue to change in 2018, when the U.S. Poker Open kicks off on February 1. The high stakes tournament series, comprised of $10,000, $25,000, and $50,000 events, will be the next week-long series to hit PokerGO, with streams beginning on February 2.

The 2018 U.S. Poker Open schedule can be found below:

  • February 1 – Event No. 1: $10,000 No Limit Hold’em
  • February 2 – Event No. 2: $10,000 Pot Limit Omaha
  • February 3 – Event No. 3: $25,000 No Limit Hold’em
  • February 5 – Event No. 4: USPO $25,000 Mixed Game Championship
  • February 6 – Event No. 5: $10,000 No Limit Hold’em
  • February 7 – Event No. 6: $25,000 No Limit Hold’em
  • February 8 – Event No. 7: $25,000 No Limit Hold’em
  • February 9 – Event No. 8: $50,000 No Limit Hold’em Main Event

The U.S. Poker Open will be one of the highest stakes series of the year and will be the first to incorporate both No Limit Hold’em and Mixed Game events. In total, players that play the full USPO series will put up $180,000 in buy-ins over the course of the series. That total includes the $50,000 NLH USPO Main Event and the $25,000 Mixed Game Championship.

Both Daniel Negreanu and Brian Rast, some of poker’s mixed game authorities, have talked about the inclusiveness of the USPO and have expressed excitement towards the addition of non-No Limit Hold’em events to a high stakes series. They also both believe that PokerGO’s live coverage of the U.S. Poker Open should, at the very least, strike an interest in mixed games with players that may are unfamiliar with other variants of poker.

While mixed games and Pot Limit Omaha will be featured during the USPO, No Limit Hold’em still reigns supreme. The world’s best No Limit players should compete, just like during Poker Masters and the Super High Roller Bowl, giving PokerGO fans access to highest levels the poker world has to offer.
