Stephen Chidwick is the star of the U.S. Poker Open and won his second title in as many days tonight on PokerGO in the $25,000 Mixed Game Championship. Chidwick won the $25,000 No Limit Hold’em High Roller yesterday and jumped into action for the $25,000 Mixed Game Championship after the final table wrapped up.

The second win of the USPO series launches Chidwick up to $810,900 in total prize money won during the series. Trailing Chidwick are the respective runner-up finishers from the last two nights, Chris Vitch and Keith Tilston.

Vitch entered tonight’s final table second in chips and brought with him ample mixed game experience. PokerGO’s Maria Ho let us know more about the two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner during the broadcast.

Also at the final table were strong competitors in Benjamin Pollack, Dan Shak, the start of final table chip leader Isaac Haxton, and Phil Hellmuth.

Hellmuth opened his USPO series with this event and made it no secret that he had all the confidence required to spin up his short stack.

Today was the not the day for Hellmuth and he departed in sixth place with Shak following him out. The 2017 WSOP Main Event third-place finisher Pollack put on a respectable performance and left the stage in fourth place.

Three-handed play between Vitch, Haxton, and Chidwick took up the majority of hands at the final table. The eight games were cycled through a few times before Haxton finally succumbed in third-place to pick up his first USPO cash. The polls thought this was Haxton’s night but he was denied a win.

Chidwick opened heads up play with a wide gap between him and Vitch. A hand of Pot Limit Omaha put Chidwick in firm control after getting the better end of a flush-versus-flush encounter.

The high limits forced Vitch all-in and he lost the remainder of his chips in 2-7 Triple Draw. Vitch collected $247,500 for his silver medal and now sits in second place on the USPO leaderboard, only $5,500 ahead of Tilston.

The next USPO final table is tomorrow at 4:00 pm ET. The second $10,000 No Limit Hold’em event is underway and Day 2’s final table will be on the PokerGO live stream. Chidwick finished fifth in the first running of this event and should be in the field to add more prize money to his total. The Poker Central podcast thinks the Stephen Chidwick show is just getting warmed up.
