Following a technical issue that saw the event paused last week, Event #32: $100 The Opener resumed with 4,599 players returning from the 29,306-entrant field. The prize pool was a staggering $2,571,216, but the lion’s share would be reserved for the top prize of $265,880.

After nearly 11 hours of play on Day 2, Brazilian Marcelo “Marolo” Jakovljevic Pudla defeated Ronit “Songjoy” Chamani heads-up to win his first WSOP bracelet and become the seventh WSOP bracelet winner from Brazil.

First Bracelet for Alek Stasiak in $1,111 Every 1 for Covid Relief

The Event #33: $1,111 Every 1 for Covid Relief would see a $2,580,853 prize pool created from the 2,323-entrant field as the likes of Bertrand Grospellier,Jake Schindler, Elio Fox, Daniel Strelitz, Anson Tsang, Chance Kornuth, Mikita Badziakouski, and Adrian Mateos all finished in-the-money.

Following roughly nine hours of play, the final hand would see Canadian Alek “astazz” Stasiak holding ace-six against Argentina’s Martin “colinchow” Ilobera’s pocket-deuces. The flop saw an ace fall, and when no help fell for Ilobera on the turn and river, Stasiak would be crowned the champion and receive $343,204 in first-place prize money, along with his first WSOP bracelet.

Roberto Romanello Wins Event #39: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em and Claims Poker’s Triple Crown

The Event #39: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em would be the first of the schedule GGPoker events for Sunday, and it attracted a 922-entrant field and created a $1,313,850 prize pool.

With 134 players finishing in-the-money, the likes of Jake Schindler, Ali Imsirovic, Danny Tang, Sergi Reixach, Patrick Tardif, Adam Owen, Jack Sinclair, Alex Foxen, Luc Greenwood, and Chris Dombrowski all fell short of the final table. The biggest name at the final table would be Wales’ Roberto Romanello who entered third in chips overall. Romanello had previous won the 2010 EPT Prague Main Event and the 2011 WPT Bratislava Main Event, and with this GGPoker WSOP Online victory, he is now the ninth triple crown winner joining fellow Europeans Roland de Wolfe, Jake Cody, Bertrand Grospellier, Davidi Kitai, and Niall Farrell, along with Americans Gavin Griffin, Mohsin Charania, and Harrison Gimbel.
