Before Poker Masters debuted earlier this month, the series was dubbed “the highest stakes week of the year.” By the end of the week, the five-event high stakes series lived up to that billing.

The world’s best players came together for eight days of war, with Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Fedor Holz, Bryn Kenney, Doug Polk, and more hitting PokerGO to battle for $13 million in total prize pools across four $50,000 Prelim events and the $100,000 Championship. They were all also competing for the most stylish trophy in poker, the Poker Masters Purple Jacket™.

While Daniel Negreanu opened his quest for the Purple Jacket with nearly two dozen side bets and a cash in Event #1, PokerGO commentator Nick Schulman took the early lead in the race for Poker Masters glory. Schulman earned $918,000 for his opening event victory, but after Steffen Sontheimer navigated his way to the Event #2 winner’s circle, the German took a stranglehold on the Poker Masters Championship Standings.

Sontheimer kept his lead through the final two $50,000 prelim events, while Bryn Kenney continued his High Roller dominance and Brandon Adams beat Doug Polk heads up for his first-career High Roller win. Despite Sontheimer’s continued reign at the top of the Poker Masters Championship Standings, it was anyone’s game heading into the final event. That was, unless Sontheimer kept his dream Poker Masters run going into the $100,000 Championship.

He did. The German made his fifth final table of the series, notched his fourth cash, and second victory to capture the Poker Masters Purple Jacket in dominating fashion. In total, Steffen Sontheimer amassed nearly $2.75 million in Poker Masters cashes, more than over $1 million more than his nearest competitor.

While Sontheimer’s competitors were left far from Purple Jacket touching distance when it was all said and done, Poker Masters event replays are just a touch away on PokerGO. Relive the entire five-event high stakes series, with nearly 50 hours of feature and final table coverage, streaming on-demand exclusively on the PokerGO event replays tab
