Phil Ivey Headlines Day 2 of Big One For One Drop on PokerGO

The final event of the World Series of Poker calendar is the largest one of them all. The $1,000,000 Big One for One Drop drew an exclusive field of 24 entrants with registration open until the start of Day 2. 19 of those players survived Day 1.

Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu are two and three on the leaderboard behind Rick Salomon. Poker After Dark featured Salomon on “Perks of the Trade” week and his aggressive style paid off on Day 1 of One Drop. Salomon bagged 11,445,000 and is out in front when Day 2 starts.

In the middle of the pack is 2018 Super High Roller champion Justin Bonomo, who opens Day 2 with 4,715,000. Bonomo noted One Drop comes with some extra pressure and he’s ready to play his best versus the toughest opponents in poker.

Ivey is at the tail end of his first full World Series in a few years and looking to better his cash in the $50,000 Poker Players Championship.

Negreanu finished second in the 2014 One Drop and can best than finish starting with a quality Day 2.

Only a few eliminations took place on Day 1 but they were notable in magnitude. Antonio Esfandiari, Bryn Kenney, Jake Schindler, and Isaac Haxton all exited midway through play.

Esfandiari lost with ace-king against the kings of Jason Koon and was the second player to exit behind David Peters.

Day 2 action starts on PokerGO at 2:30 PM before switching over to ESPN2 at 12:30 AM. Coverage returns at 2:30 AM for the night shift with Ali Nejad and Nick Schulman to play down to the official final table of six. Find the full Big One for One Drop coverage schedule here.
