Everyone remembers when Phil Ivey folded the winning hand during his 2009 Main Event run and a decade later he did it again! Ivey made his low and then folded when he was guaranteed at least half the pot in a pivotal $50,000 buy-in Poker Players Championship hand.

At the time, Ivey was one of the chips leaders just a few spots from the final table and a chance at an over $1,000,000 score. In the hours after Ivey’s inconceivable fold, the ten-time bracelet winner always seemed to be second best when the pots began to grow.

Ivey eventually exited in 8th place. Did the blunder cost him a chance at another World Series of Poker bracelet? Did Ivey even realize what he did? Ali Nejad and Prahlad Friedman try to make sense of one of the weirdest folds in WSOP history.
