Monday morning. Your alarm goes off for the first time in two days, you head back to the office and then spend the first few hours of the workday planning out how you’ll survive until closing time on Friday. Luckily, Poker Central and Death Wish Coffee have you covered. The world’s strongest coffee gives you a “Morning Perk”, recapping the weekend sports action on Monday and then the best from across the internet on Friday.

Did anyone else feel completely lost this weekend? Did anyone else feel like they just wanted to crawl into a cave and hibernate until say, the first week of September? Did anyone else miss the National Football League and not know what to do with their weekend without it? Millions of Americans did and for the next few months, they’ll have to ask themselves, “Now what?” every Sunday morning. We’ll have to have Jimmy Garoppolo trade rumors and the yearly Mel Kiper versus Todd McShay Mock Draft Wars satisfy our NFL fixes tntil the 2017/2018 season begins. Until then, we are going to have to find other sports to fill our weekend schedules and thankfully, that won’t be too hard to do.

Jordan Spieth may have ended up winning the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am but the amateurs seemed to make bigger headlines throughout the weekend. While the rest of the music industry was preparing for the Grammys, Justin Timberlake almost made an ace on one of golf’s most iconic holes. Had the pop star recorded a hole-in-one, it likely would have just confirmed what we all knew already, that Justin Timberlake is the most talented person on the planet

Miles Plumlee, bless his heart, was traded to the Charlotte Hornets last week. This week, he tried to stop the one-man wrecking crew that is Blake Griffin. He, just like so many who have come before him, failed miserably and only a few days after making the move to Charlotte, Plumlee will start his Monday morning filing for witness protection. Griffin on the other hand, will continue to prove, regardless of where he is playing, that he is still one of the most explosive players in the NBA.

The biggest NBA game of the weekend, primarily for storylines and not the actual basketball game because it was a one-sided affair, was the return of Kevin Durant to Oklahoma City. After leaving the Thunder in free agency last summer, OKC’s fan base and some of their players have made it very clear that they won’t be welcoming Durant back with open arms any time soon. There was jawing, there was some nose-to-nose altercations, there was a Golden State Warriors win and there was Russell Westbrook oozing swag.

I admit, I don’t know the first thing about mixed martial arts or the UFC, so unfortunately, I can’t make any hot takes about the decisions on this weekend’s UFC208 fights. What I can do is appreciate an amazing comeback story though, one punctuated by an Anderson Silva victory on Saturday night. Two years ago, Silva broke his leg in a fight against Chris Weidman, viewer discretion is advised, and it was good to see one of the UFC’s all-time greats return to the top of the sport.

Football news!? Nope, not quiet but we will use Ezekiel Elliot’s quote tweet to make another Migos reference! 15Fest, which according to their Twitter is “the nation’s premier college music festival”, asked if the rookie running back wanted to party with Migos, Waka Flocka Flame and Young Thug. Elliot then made it pretty clear that he didn’t want any part of that crew, the “lol” was a nice touch, but if Elliot is out, I could definitely clear my schedule in April.
