The partypoker Million North America $10,300 High Roller at the Playground Poker Club outside Montreal wrapped up late Friday night after the two-day event generated 53 entries. The top six players cashed in the event, which featured four Canadians, and Mike McDonald, who was recently featured on Heads Up with Remko, won the title for $200,000.

Marc-Olivier Carpentier-Perrault finished runner-up after starting heads-up play with the chip lead, Sorel Mizzi finished in third, partypoker Ambassador Roberto Romanello took fourth, Benoit Galland in fifth and Vishal Maini collected the min-cash in sixth place.

McDonald and Mizzi are third and fourth respectively in Canada’s all-time money list. McDonald has $13.1 million, it’s not out of reach to pass Jonathan Duhamel in second place with $17.6 million but then it’s nearly out of reach with Daniel Negreanu’s $33.1 million in lifetime earnings.

Jason Koon, Mark Radoja, Cate Hall, Sam Trickett and even John Duthie played the event but fell short of the money.

Players that made Day 2 of the High Roller still were able to jump in the $5,300 Main Event with Day 1B running Saturday, which guarantees $1 million for first place and $5 million prize pool.

McDonald thanked his followers in Instagram with the caption: “Thanks everyone for the support! Always been a life-goal of mine to win a tournament on home soil and finally made that a reality by winning the #MontrealMillions high roller for 200k today! Now it’s time to go back-to-back for 1MM tmrw”
