Facts and figures. They make the world go around and, more often than not, tell a story without letting opinions or biases get in the way. Which numbers from the World Poker Tour Five Diamond World Poker Classic tell that story and what quick opinions do we have?

$1,958,065 – There are only a few events each year with seven-figures up top and WPT Five Diamond is always one of them. This year’s event was record-breaking, we’ll get to that in a second, and while both Alex Foxen and Ryan Tosoc earned at least $1 million for their efforts, Tosoc came out on top. The Las Vegas professional finished 2nd in last year’s Five Diamond World Poker Classic and then returned to best that finish for a $1.9 million score this year.

812 – While the World Poker Tour has lived up to their worldly name over the last few seasons, expanding their schedules and series to incorporate events on nearly every continent, Las Vegas is still the WPT’s bread and butter. Every WPT event in Las Vegas seems to be bigger and better than the last, and this year was no different. The Five Diamond World Poker Classic featured a record-breaking 812 player field, crushing last year’s record field of 791 entrants.

21 – Heading into yesterday’s PokerGO live streamed final table, all eyes were on Sean Perry. The chip leader turned 21 the day Five Diamond began and in his first Las Vegas tournament, Perry picked up a birthday score 21-year-olds can only dream of. Perry finished 4th for $504,000 and it will be interesting to see where his career goes from here, now that he can play the country’s biggest events.

$1,659,503 – Alex Foxen may not be 21, but the former Boston College football player is certainly one of the best young players in the world. This year, Foxen has churned out results and cashed for nearly $1.7 million. Over that time, Foxen has gone from being the best tournament player you’ve never heard of to being one of the most consistent tournament players in the United States.

4 – Since the WPT and PokerGO partnered at the end of the summer, PokerGO has crowned four WPT champions at final table live streams. That partnership began in California, with the WPT Legends of Poker final table and has continued with final table streams from Borgata in Atlantic City, NJ, Playground Poker Club in Montreal, and the Bellagio in Las Vegas. All four final tables are available on-demand, so make sure you catch up before the WPT returns to PokerGO in 2018.
