Facts and figures. They make the world go around and, more often than not, tell a story without letting opinions or biases get in the way. Which numbers from the past week tell that story and what quick opinions do we have?

3 – The World Poker Tour’s California Swing is underway, we’ll get to that in a second, but their recent Canada Swing was full of historical victories. Ema Zajmovic became the first female to win an open-entry WPT event in Montreal and then a week later, Darren Elias won the WPT Fallsview Poker Classic, for his record-tying third WPT title. Gus Hansen, Carlos Mortensen, Anthony Zinno and Chino Rheem also have three WPT wins, making up a star-studded WPT Mount Rushmore.

$5,001,600 – As mentioned, the California Swing is officially underway. The LAPC is always one of the bigger events on the World Poker Tour schedule and this year’s installment is no different. 521 players put up the $10,000 buy-in and, as of this morning, 111 players are still alive to compete for a just over $5,000,000 prize pool. 66 players will cash and there is over seven-figures awaiting the eventual champion.

65 – The numbers surrounding this year’s Super High Roller Bowl are mind-melting. From over a half-billion in career tournament earnings, to eight different countries being represented, we could go on and on. Luckily, Paul Oresteen already did but despite all those absurd figures, 65 combined WSOP bracelets in the field is the most telling. WSOP bracelets are, with due respect to other events and tours, the gold standard in poker. The Super High Roller Bowl is for the best of the best and that one figure more or less tells fans just how competitive this event is going to be.

29 – The only player to ever average a triple double during an NBA season is Oscar Robertson, who also holds the single-season record with 41 triple doubles during the 1961-1962 season. Russell Westbrook notched his 29th triple double of 2017 on Sunday and with 23 games remaining in the Thunder’s season, meaning Westbrook more or less needs to stay on his triple double pace to match or beat The Big O’s record.

$100K – Another month, another slate of ARIA High Rollers. March boasts two weekends of High Roller action, starting this weekend with two $25K events and a $50K Super High Roller. Poker Central will be on hand to bring you exclusive action throughout the entire weekend, including interviews with High Roller players, coverage of final tables and much, much more.
