Over the last few months, PokerGO’s content library has grown and grown. New episodes of Poker After Dark, last month’s Poker Masters series, World Poker Tour final tables, and more have added to the live events library, but the on-demand library has seen similar growth. Classic Poker After Dark episodes have been added to THE VAULT on a near weekly basis and some almost Main Event champions hit PokerGO this week.

“Close But No Cigar” week features six players that boast single-digit World Series of Poker Main Event finishes on their resumes, including Poker After Dark favorite Mike Matusow. “The Mouth” has two Main Event final tables appearances to his name, including a 6th place finish in 2001 and a 9th place result in 2005.

Andy Black was also at that 2005 final table, notching a 5th place result, while Lee Watkinson recorded an 8th place finish in the 2008 Main Event. Five-time WSOP bracelet winner Allen Cunningham finished 4th in 2006, which was the biggest Main Event in history, but two players got even closer.

Dewey Tomko and David Williams almost got the cigar, with Tomko recording two runner-up finishes, in 1982 and 2001, during his Hall of Fame career. Williams, who just commentated the entire Poker Masters series, finished 2nd in the 2004 Main Event for an over $3.5 million result.

While getting close to Main Event glory is always a profitable endeavor, close doesn’t cut it on Poker After Dark. The winner’s circle is the only place these players want to finish the week and after trying to redeem himself during “Mission Impossible” week, Mike Matusow has another tough lineup to contend with if he wants to book another Poker After Dark victory.

Watch all the “Close But No Cigar” episodes on-demand on PokerGO, along with tons of other classic episodes currently waiting to be binge watched in THE VAULT. Also, be on the lookout for new Poker After Dark episodes, when they return next week.
