Event #3 of the 2018 World Series of Poker was always going to be big. The $3,000 No Limit Shootout event was scheduled to open PokerGO‘s WSOP schedule and so far, it hasn’t disappointed. Over 360 players built up a nearly $1 million prize pool and after two full days of play, ten players remain. Two of those players will make PokerGO’s summer debut even bigger.
Former WSOP Main Event champions Joe McKeehen and Joe Cada advanced to the final table on Friday. Both have won two WSOP bracelets and they’ll return looking to add to their WSOP resumes on Saturday. McKeehen’s post-Main Event win came in 2017, while Cada hasn’t visited the WSOP winner’s circle since 2014.
The first PokerGo stream of the summer could have also been even bigger. Three-time WSOP bracelet winner Eli Elezra just missed out on the final table, along with online legend Chris Moorman. 14-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth also came close, before busting in 21st place.
While the big names collect the headlines, there are some extremely experienced WSOP players around McKeehen and Cada. Joshua Turner has over $1.3 million in career earnings and six WSOP Circuit rings. Turner is still looking for his first bracelet though, along with Sam Phillips and Ihar Soika. They return for the final table with over $5 million in combined career earnings.
