Jake Schindler Captures ARIA High Roller Series $10K Title

The ARIA High Roller Series opened in dramatic fashion on PokerGO this afternoon. Jake Schindler took care of business against a loaded final table to walk away with $128,800. Schindler final tabled a few U.S. Poker Open events last month and got back on the winning track in the $10,000 buy-in High Roller against 28 entries.

Schindler bested a field of killers and closed out the match by toppling USPO Champion Stephen Chidwick in a hard-fought heads up battle.

The final table opened five-handed with only four spots making the money. Nick Schulman was the unlucky bubble boy. The American Poker Award winner ran pocket queens into Schindler’s kings and left with zero dollars.

Once the field reached the money, it was Byron Kaverman’s turn to fall to Schindler. The 2017 Super High Roller Bowl finalist took a nasty river card and ran into Schindler’s flush.

Three-handed play was a formality. Sean Winter opened the stage short stacked and met his end against Chidwick.

Heads up play started with both players deep but a big pot brewed right away. The chips went in between the two and Schindler was on the edge against his British foe. Schindler took his time deciding what to do and made a championship call to wrap up the event.

The win is the 31st career cash at ARIA for Schindler, who trails only Cary Katz in that category. The next event on the ARIA High Roller Series calendar is the $25,000 tournament. That final table streams tomorrow at 4:00 PM ET exclusively on PokerGO. Expect to see Schindler in the field as he tries to go back-to-back.
