“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

The internet wasn’t around when Ferris Bueller gave everyone the perfect high school yearbook quote but his words are just as powerful today as they were in the late 80’s. The internet, more often than not, moves faster than life itself and while we’re sure we missed some of it, these were our favorites from the past week.

This week’s Sign of the Apocalypse: A poster of a Donald Trump tweet in the United States Senate. Political ideologies aside, I get what Bernie Sanders was trying to do. He wanted to show that Donald Trump once tweeted something and is now saying something contradicting that tweet. There has to be another way though, what would the Founding Fathers think? Thomas Jefferson and company are literally spinning in their graves! This makes me laugh, this upsets me but this mainly just makes me laugh. Oh, and memes, memes and more memes.

We are a week into 2017 and bar has already been set for the year’s Best Viral Video. I don’t know why this video has over 30,000 retweets, I don’t know why I can’t stop watching and I don’t know why I was never taught how to properly salt meat. What I do know is that Nusret Gokce, who is apparently the expert meat cutter in this video, also massages cows and thinks he’s The Godfather.

I have a confession to make, I didn’t originally see this on the world wide web. I was watching the Golden Globes live, one of many guilty pleasures, and was genuinely happy for Donald Glover. ‘Atlanta’, which was created, produced and written by Glover, won two Golden Globes on Sunday. After accepting his own award for ‘Best Actor in a TV Series, Comedy’, Glover then accepted the award for ‘Best TV Series, Comedy’. I had already heard him speak once and was half listening to his second go-around until I heard “…and I really want to thank ‘Migos’…” I own DVR for this exact reason. Yes, Donald Glover did actually thank Migos and yes, Bad and Boujee is the best song ever.

If there is one thing that we, as a people, could pull from the rubble that was 2016, I’m glad it’s ‘Crying Jordan’ memes. The fact that the first one to go viral in 2017 was of University of Alabama football coach Nick Saban is just icing on the cake.
