The World Poker Tour L.A. Poker Classic Main Event wrapped up Day 4 with 18 players remaining in the field. The day began with 45 players with Daniel Strelitz leading the field and after five levels of action Strelitz still sits on top as the only player with more than two million chips in the bag.

Strelitz told the WPT that, “I was not planning on being chip leader (again) since I lost a bunch of chips, so I had less than I actually came into the day with, but then I caught some heat again on the last level to bag a bunch of chips.”

Strelitz made a lot of strong hands during the closing action to chip up. “They were letting me king of just win the blinds over and over, and then I made two straights, made a flush and got paid off a bunch,” Strelitz said.

The top half of the field is loaded with talent: Jesse Martin sits in third place, Joe Serock and Matt Berkey are hot on Martin’s heels while Mike Sexton Rainer Kempe bagged up under a million for Day 5.

German standout Dzmitry Urbanovich, James Calderaro and Simeon Naydenov round out the bottom of the counts. Just for showing up on Friday each player has $53,760 locked up.

The schedule calls for the field to play down to a TV Final Table of six players, at which point they’ll have $191,490 guaranteed with a chance at the $1.001 million first-place prize.
