The PokerStars Championship Monte Carlo €100,000 Super High Roller is new in title only with a rich history of huge six-figure events. The event attracted 47 of the biggest names in poker – and Hollywood, as Kevin Hart played in a second SHR event this year. The re-entry format saw 56 entrants trimmed to 38 survivors with Daniel Dvoress leading the field.

Daniel Negreanu bagged up second in chips and leads a strong top ten contingent with Steve O’Dwyer, David Peters, Igor Kurganov and Charlie Carrell on the leader board.

Hart arrived in Monte Carlo in style via private helicopter to play the event. He heckled Colman’s choice of wearing a robe to play, but did lose a bet to him when Colman did over 105 consecutive push ups.

Hart dusted his first stack but re-entered and moves on to Day 2 with an above average stack courtesy of pocket aces twice late in the day.

Just outside the top ten counts are Colman, Bryn Kenney, blast-from-the-past Patrik Antonius and 2016 Super High Roller Bowl winner Rainer Kempe. Americans Isaac Haxton, Byron Kaverman, Dan Smith, Justin Bonomo and Erik Seidel all return for Day 2.

The prize pool remains a question mark as registration remains open two levels into play on Day 2. Play resumes at noon local time with the goal of playing down to a final table.
