Brandon Adams accomplished the first objective of his Poker Masters mission last night. The genius high stakes poker competitor brings the chip lead into the $10,000 No Limit Hold’em final table today on PokerGO. $193,200 sits on top for first place and precious points for the series leaderboard.

Jumping out to a bullish start provides Adams support for the week of High Roller events. The finance savant expects to play a full schedule inside the PokerGO Studio. A series of this caliber turns expensive in a hurry. Adams understands there is a winding path still left in front of him to win the Purple Jacket.

“Getting off to a good start in terms of the points is a big deal,” Adams said. “As you’ve seen, the buy-ins are super high. With the rebuys, you can win this tournament and still be stuck huge for the series which is kind of a crazy thing. It feels great to get some points locked up and a cash locked up. Hopefully, tomorrow I have a win or a top-three finish and carry that momentum forward.”

The wardrobe of Adams is lined with shades of a purple. In the Super High Roller Bowl show INSIDERS, Adams invited viewers to peer into his closet. Adams decided on lavender to start his Poker Masters odyssey. Generally relaxed at the table, the former Harvard professor kicked back more than usual late in the night. A few rounds of Goose Island and casual posture carried him to the finish line.

When Adams won the pot of the tournament to bust Matthias Ebinger and put the field into the money, he reacted similarly to if he won the blinds and ante. Albeit, the pot carried more equity but Adams immediately stared back at the table to think about the next hand.

Adams resumed the work ethic displayed on INSIDERS and used for Super High Roller Bowl to get ready for Poker Masters. A coach that Adams declined revealing the identity of assisted with putting him on the right track of soaking up all simulations possible for the week.

“It was a little bit of a continuation of my preparation from Super High Roller Bowl,” Adams noted. “I have a big folder and some files on my computer so I was reviewing all of that stuff.”

When Adams came into his own in 2005, he wrote down his game plan of attack against all opponents on pen and paper for the WSOP Tournament of Champions. From a budding wizard to a sage veteran, Adams owns a different strategy for today’s final table. To be mentally fresh against the best players in the world is the primary focus.

“I feel like I’ve done some of the technical work so it’s not really benefiting me to study or go over the material with anyone or get any sort of coaching. It could conceivably benefit be to get some sort of player profiles but I don’t really do that. I focus mainly on resting up and playing low-stress tomorrow.”

Adams called out Isaac Haxton as a player he might key in on. Their rivalry dates back to 2003 and yesterday, Adams observed Haxton utilizing a limping strategy he had not yet seen in action.

Another familiar foe sits across the table. When Adams won the $50,000 event in the 2017 Poker Masters, David Peters took third. Peters and Rainer Kempe sit on the direct right of Adams when play starts at 4 PM ET on PokerGO.

The tab a player can run up in Poker Masters sits with Adams at the final table. Laddering up equals future buy-ins saved. Does a positive start equal a strong finish? Adams finds out the first part today.

“It’s nice to get off to a good start because I do see a scenario where I went through two bullets today and two bullets tomorrow, you kind of starting thinking about flights home,” Adams said in jest. “This is a different feeling.”
