The final session of Poker After Dark: “Voices Carry” week is just a few hours away and while some talkative and engaging players have already hit the felt, with some navigating their way to the winner’s circle, the entertaining and charismatic Liv Boeree will make her debut tonight.

Boeree burst onto the tournament scene in 2010 and the Team PokerStars Pro has been one of the most recognizable names and faces in poker ever since. Throughout her career, Boeree has amassed tournament results and victories across the globe and is also a driving force behind REG Charity, one of poker’s most successful philanthropic organizations.

The British professional has also played on countless televised poker shows but Poker After Dark has been uncharted territory until now.

“It’s so exciting that the show is back after all this time,” Boeree said earlier this week, before adding, “Poker After Dark was a staple of my TV diet back in the day and I can’t wait to play.”

Those thoughts are likely mirrored by so many that have watched the first few episodes of Poker After Dark’s reboot, after going the better part of six years without new episodes of the world-famous show. Poker After Dark is different from most shows that have come and gone since, with minimal commentary allowing players like Boeree to be the focus of the broadcast.

“It focuses heavily on the characters, which is what I enjoy most about televised poker.” Boeree said.

The characters on this week’s “Voices Carry” episode have certainly been the focus, from “The King of Speech Play,” to High Roller Jason Koon, and more. Boeree’s own character will be one of the main attractions tonight but she will also share the Poker After Dark spotlight with her long-time boyfriend, Igor Kurganov.

The two won their first WSOP bracelets this summer, playing together in the $10,000 Tag Team Championship, but tonight, they’ll be competing against each other in the $25,000 winner-take-all sit and go.

“The part I’m really looking forward to is the opportunity to hopefully crush Igor live on TV.” Boeree said with a laugh, while mentioning that they’ll each be playing for the win. “We are extremely competitive against each other. He jokes about how I’d be terrified to play him properly because ‘he knows my game better than I know it.’ He does not and I am very much looking forward to surprising the hell out of him.”

While Kurganov could be in for a surprise, poker fans know what to expect when it comes to Liv Boeree. Personality, color, enthusiasm, and more, all of which will be on display when cards get in the air later Thursday tonight.
