Day 7 of the World Series of Poker Main Event is when the pressure is at the highest. Every player among the final 27 each year is guaranteed at least $250,000 with the chance at truly life-changing money at their fingertips.

Epic confrontations are part of Day 7 lore and include the Justin Schwartz set-under-set hand versus Joe McKeehen in 2015 and the Griffin Benger-William Kassouf skirmish a year later.

Now available on PokerGO is Day 7 of the 2013 Main Event. The November Nine is near and all 27 players who enter play believe it is them who have a date with destiny.

There are no confrontations of that nature in 2013, but there is a blowup that to this day remains as the largest in Main Event history. Anton Morgenstern enters Day 7 sitting on a stack equivalent to the final table chip average. With 21 players remaining, Morgenstern’s stack is chip average for the final six.

Morgenstern fails to make the final two tables. It’s a collapse that can only be seen to be believed and dominates the early coverage of Day 7.

The feature table is the home for Morgenstern’s fall from grace and the outer tables are where ‘The Beast’ rises.

Ryan Riess is a cult hero among his rail when viewers first encounter him on Day 6. The Michigan native attempts to follow in the footsteps of 2009 winner Joe Cada. Riess reps Spartan green and has a game that King Leonidas would be proud of. Watch Riess take his leap into poker stardom with millions on the line.

JC Tran is already a star and a potential Poker Hall of Famer to boot. Want to watch perfect tournament poker played? Look no further than Tran’s Day 7 performance.

History is on the side of Mark Newhouse on Day 7. A beneficiary of Morgenstern’s swift exit, Newhouse accumulates toward his first of two consecutive November Nine appearances. To this day, Newhouse remains the only player in the century to claim consecutive Main Event final table results.

There’s also a former Main Event champion working his magic in Carlos Mortensen. ‘The Matador’ was in the center of the fire on Day 6 and is on the verge of his own history on Day 7. Can he make another final table? Check out PokerGO and find out.
