Over the last 24 hours, the World Poker Tour Five Diamond World Poker Classic field underwent some massive changes. The field jumped from 605 entrants to a record-breaking field of 812 players, pushing the total prize pool dangerously close to $8 million, but while the field underwent some change, the top of the leader board did not.

Brandon Meyers, who bagged the top stack after Day 1, kept himself in pole position and will enter Day 3 of the $10,000 buy-in event at the top of the charts. Meyers bagged 388,100, good to lead the remaining 320-player field, but there are some other big names that finished strong.

LAPC winner Daniel Strelitz bagged 310,000, while Tony Gregg put 225,000 away for Day 3. Three-time World Poker Tour champion Darren Elias finished just over 200,000, along with Super High Roller Bowl champion Rainer Kempe. Alex Foxen, Taylor Paur, and Mike Del Vecchio finished over 150,000, while Lauren Roberts, Dan Colman, 2015 Five Diamond winner Kevin Eyster, and Poker Masters winner Steffen Sontheimer finished just under that threshold.

Of the remaining 320 players that will return for Day 3, 81 will cash in this year’s WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic. A min-cash is worth $19,691, but the big money resides at the final table. The final-nine will each be guaranteed at least $107,119 and the final-six, who will make the official WPT Five Diamond final table and hit PokerGO on Sunday, will be guaranteed at least $271,736. Just shy of $2 million awaits the eventual champion.
